NC Technologies, a Chennai based Computer Integrated Manufacturing solutions provider has implemented Wireless Machine Monitoring System integrated with DNC at BHEL.

In BHEL, utilization of Men & CNC Machines are the key factors decides Overall Equipment Efficiency [OEE]. To improve the Overall Equipment Efficiency there are other factors influences. They are Machines Breakdown, Machine Idle, Job Count etc. NC Technologies has implemented advanced Wireless networking of BHEL shop floor with Machine Monitoring, Energy Monitoring of Machines & DNC.

Machine Monitoring System :

Each machine will have wireless Data Acquisition hardware which collects digital signal from the machines like Machine ON, Spindle ON, Auto, Cycle Start and Program End signals. The wireless Data Acquisition hardware have inbuilt LCD Screen to show the current status of the machine and Keypad to enter idle and breakdown code. The gateway PC connected to hardware is installed with MMS – Online software.

MMS Online Software is a online application which shows the current status of the machines. The MMS online software is a GUI based application which shows the status of all the machines like Machine name, Job Name, Machine ON, Spindle ON, Cycle Start, Program End, Job Count. All these signals will appear on one screen.

MMS Online software is linked with Oracle database which is loaded on the database server of BHEL.

MMS Offline Software is a GUI based web application developed with Java with Oracle database. This MMS Offline software is basically a Planning and reporting software. Since it is a web based application this software can run on any PC which is connected to BHEL LAN Infrastructure (intranet). This software is constructed with tree tier architecture which is very useful to maintain different category of users.

MMS Online software planning of resources like men, machine and job is possible. Reports like Utilization, Efficiency, and Productivity of men, machine, and cell can be generated in graphical and tabular formats.

Breakdown and Idle reports can be taken machine wise. These reports describes the date, time and reason for idle and breakdown of a machine.

Wireless DNC for CNC machines implemented at BHEL. CNCNet is a DNC GUI Application software which was developed indigenously by NC Technologies. This CNCNet software supports all type of controllers and manufacturers. IP Cameras and Energy monitoring system are added with this package.
