We've put together a good collection of the most commonly used 80/20 aluminum extrusion components (both inch series and metric). These are free to download from: http://www.flomoco.com/8020_flomoco.html We've kept the component details quite simple. This keeps redraws fast, and permits for clean and easy component "snaps". On this page you will also find a SketchUp plugin that will take a SketchUp model built from these components and instantly generate a complete bill of materials. It can also provide you with an instant quotation (if desired). SketchUp is nearly the perfect tool for designing aluminum extrusion projects. Profiles, joining plates, wheels, handles, etc. snap into place, giving you almost unlimited possibilities when it comes to designing exhibits, workstations, etc. Note, however, if you do not use SketchUp, you might still be interested in signing up for an 80/20 Instant Quote account that lets you immediately price your 80/20 projects. Note: we are an 80/20 distributor. I do not, however, want our work described above to imply we are the only ones that this product can be purchased through, nor is 80/20 the only manufacture of such product. There are many such manufactures of fine quality aluminum extrusion, including Bosch, Faztek, FrameWorld, Paletti, Maytec, Item, to name a few. I am also certain that with some additional work the libraries we created could also be used to design projects built from these other manufacturers extrusions. Our goal was to give SketchUp users a good set of components so that they can design structures that can go from computer screen to exhibit floor in a matter of a few days (if not quicker). We welcome your comments and suggestions. ---- Brad Bennett |
