A2Z CNC Monster Mill upgrade for Sherline

We just released our long awaited Z column upgrade for the Sherline mill. It give 16" of Z travel and precision anti-lash Kerk Motion leadscrews to your Z.

When combined with our existing 14" travel X table, 11" travel Y table, and precision leadscrew XY upgrade you end up with what we are calling the Monster Mill.

Here is a video of the Monster Mill doing some 3D milling of a solid created from a scan of my foot. It is cutting at 70 ipm using a 1/2" ball end mill through some 20 lbs/ft3 Precision Board material. Toolpaths were done with VisualMill Pro 6. Drive is a Xylotex driving 234 oz/in stepper with 4 TPI Kerk Precision anti-lash leadscrews all being controlled by a nice stable version of Mach2.
