I would like to offer my services to optimize laser/plasma/punch tool path. Most CAM software is able to generate 80% to 90% efficient nests and for short runs this is the best method. This is based on the fact that time spent by a programmer to increase the efficiency would cost more than the gained efficiency. If you would have any nests that are run repeatedly my services would review these runs for things like common line cutting or better part yield. You may not be able to justify new software or time to address these issues, but it may be cost effective to use a service that will take a fresh look.
