Ahha tried to do constant contouring for the last five years. Maybe you should talk to them about what you have.

Testing software.

If you are in need of more software testers, than maybe i would like to give it a go. My CNC machine is not finished, just yet. So i'm not sure when i'll start with testing. Could take a few more days, weeks at most.

You could send it to me at : evb@xs4all.nl

Thanks and Greetz,

Ed.

Manfong,

Thank you for the software. Unfortunately, I am unable to use it in it's present state.
The problem is that the pinouts from my printer port do not match the ones required in your program. I am using a hardwired controller board (Piker 4X) and am unable to change the pins without a breakout board. I may need to add that in the future but for now I don't have one. Relay controls would be handy also.
The other problem is that there is no accomodation for home and limit switches. Though that wouldn't prevent me from using the program, it is a safety issue.
Good luck with your program.

Chris

Hi Chris

Thanks for your input. The program is still under development and new functions and features will be added in future version. I am not sure whether I can make the step and direction pins being configurable as this will need a major change in the program but the axis limit switchs sensing and homing function will definitely be added in the next version. The future version will also enable the NC program to turn on and off of the spindle and coolent..

If I were you, I would make the step and dir pins configurable now, while you can, and before you invest too much time. Nobody uses the same boards, and without being able to configure all the parallel port pins to suit would eliminate almost every potential user. With software like Turbocnc, Cncpro, and Mach 1 out there and working great, why would anyone want to use (or even try) yours, if they have to make a special breakout board for thier controller?

Just my 2 cents.

Eric
