ROTAX SLED ENGINE ULTRALIGHT/KITPLANE

Any one interested in building Skidoo/Rotax sled engines for ultralights/kitplanes?
You need a Rotax engine that has the Provision 8 holes and boss's. Rotax has made a line of 2 cycle ultralight/kitplane engines base on their sled motors, 337UL(30hp), 447UL(40hp), 503UL(50hp), 532UL(60hp), 582UL(65hp), 618UL(74.6hp). These were sled engines like a 582UL/580/582/583/587, 617/618UL. Some were used as Jet Ski engines to. The newer Rotax 4 strokes are way out of sight $12,000+.

I have personally seen Provision 8 blocks/case's on 470's, 583's, 670's, and I think on an older 440's. The switched motor designs completely after the 670, which I think was last made in 1999. There was a guy who told me he had a I think 2002 550F with a Provision 8 case. There are two 670's, a standard 110-112hp, and a 670HO 137hp. Most Rotax UL engines used in ultralight/kitplanes turn MAX 6500rpm, and most use 4000-6250rpm. A std. 670 makes 90hp@6400rpm per the dyno sheet. All the Rotax motors have the same crank taper, but the 670. All provision 8 case demensions are the same, use the same gear reduction drives.

They do make a Big Bore kit for a std 670 to take it to a 740. I have heard 155hp. Not confirmed by any dyno sheets. Many of the Rotax parts can be mixed an matched to make new CC engines. Like a 470 can use 583 cylinders to make a 550.

Some dxf cad files of Rotax parts/spec's can be downloaded here.

If you want the Provision 8 spec's there is a dxf cad file of the 447UL front and side of the case and also of the 503. There is also the dxf of the B, C, E, gear reduction boxs.

531-670 can use the same head. Some PWC engines use a two peice head.

Things that are needed, and some parts drawn in Solidworks, IGES formats.
Cast single and dual angle plug Heads
Cast Provision 8 Block

Billet single and dual angle plug 531-670 Heads
Billet Rotary Valve Cover with and without oil injection
Billet Provision 8 Block
Big Bore Kit Idea's for, 447UL, 503UL, 582UL, 618UL, 583, 670
After market Dual ignition kits
Billet Motor Mounts
Custom CC Motor designs/Idea's
Fuel Ijection Idea's

Some parts a cheap on ebay/Craigslist/Sled swap Meets. I have bought 583/617/670 heads for $10.
