Just IN- PBC Linear Expands Capacity with New Manufacturing Equipment

PBC Linear has been steadily adding new machining centers and expert mechanical personnel to their already impressive manufacturing facility. The 150,000 ft² area is already equipped with over 30 CNC vertical and horizontal mills, two 16 and 36 pallet Flexible Machining Systems (FMS) and a host of other specialty machine tool equipment to ensure PBC Linear can provide a range of high volume linear motion solutions to multiple customers within a short delivery period. Recently, they have invested in several new additions to the floor: a larger 72-pallet FMS center, multiple 5-axis mills and several additional skilled staff to support these new machines with the goal of increasing capacity, enhancing our motion control capabilities and further reducing delivery time for short/high volume orders.

PBC Linear has always been a proponent of lean manufacturing practices – strategically aligning their manufacturing resources and staff to eliminate lost time and wasted product. One way PBC is improving this process is through the use of their massive, new FMS machining center to their production floor. Already supported by two FMS centers, this new FMS provides for 150% increase in production! FMS machines use pallets to automatically run tooling and fixture machine tasks 24/7 with minimal manual effort. With this new machine now in place, PBC Linear can effectively decrease production time and ensure prompt delivery on mass orders.

Another new addition to the PBC manufacturing floor is three 5-axis milling machines. 5-axis mills equip PBC Linear with the ability to streamline the machining process with less set-up time as well as complete complex cutting and tooling tasks for rapid prototyping and enhanced product features that were very difficult to achieve in the past; such as precise angular/curved cutting. PBC Linear has also complimented these new machining assets with the addition of several expert machinists and manufacturing engineers; such as newly appointed operations manager John Oller, who draws from 28 years of manufacturing experience in the aerospace automotive and marine industries.
