| The EvoDrive Stepper Motor controller presents a new paradigm in stepper motor control - phase vector control. Stepper motors are torque dense, reliable, and cheap. But they are also noisy, hot, only accurate to the nearest step, and they loose sync at the first sign of a tight spot. Phase vector control runs a stepper motor like an AC servo. As a closed loop controller the EvoDrive provides precision position control and torque control. It runs wisper quiet, the motors don't heat more than a few degrees above ambient, and all this with a bog standard stepper motor. The EvoDrive mounts to Frame 17 motors but will happily control frame 23 and 34. Interfacing is via USB / RS232 / or RS485 and Pulse/Dir or CW/CCW input control is available. The development kit is available for purchase online at www.evarobotics.com |
