Need to build a printer for glass and plastic

Recently I had a need to print a part of either glass or plastic. The printing is to be done in reverse so that the part is flipped and the top surface is clear, and the graphic is on the bottom.

I have found flatbed printers in china starting at $2600 that seem to do the job, but I was wondering if anyone had already been down this road on a home brew version that would save some money.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

What you need is a sub-dye printer.
There are a few companies that make epson conversions.
Do a google search for "epson sawgrass" and you will hit the jackpot.

These printer conversions are not cheap, but can be done.

    try using decal.
print you picture on paper, or transparant paper. then appy UV glue between the paper and glass.
Put it on sunshine or UV lamp to make the glue dry.
    it's will work fine.
Also you could use paper that have dry UV glue on it, the print your picture on that paper.
do the same as above, but when the uv glue already dry, you could put the paper out of plastik or glass.
The picture will remain on glass with very thick film of dry uv glue. it work fine.
i use that on acrylic also.
