Need help with RABBIT vinyl plotter

I just bought the RABBIT vinyl plotte from a friend, but can't get it to respond. I installed the artcut software with no problems, but it wont respond through USB with win xp or through RS232 with win 98 on my laptop.

Do I need a driver for the USB hook up? I don't have a driver cd. ANy help would really be appreciated.

THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET MINE TO WORK IS WITH BOTH THE USB AND THE PARRALEL CABLE ATTACHED USING THE LPT1. DONT KNOW WHY BUT IT WORKS FOR ME... GOOD LUCK

Thanks, I got it going. It needs a Null Modem cable. No where in the instructions did it say that. Had one from my FTA satellite, I tried it and it worked.. 4 days of messing around for nothing.

I got a rabbit hx 1360, im using the reg drivers taht came with it. what drivers are you using?

for a rabbit vinyl cutting plotter,
with the serial port cable,
you will not need any driver, just connect the cable and choose the same COM port on your pc and on your software.
with the USB port cable,
you will need the USB driver program, and you can download it from the Rabbit company website.
