I have seen a few threads on this but it never went anywhere.
I have been trying to gather info on these type of machines but without much luck. From what I gather these machines are in frequent use in Europe and Asia. I have seen a few in Canada. But only one in the U.S.
Maybe, we can come up with an open source version.

I'm actually in the process of building a similar machine. It will be a bit more heavy duty with an HVLP sprayer and a cantilever X-Z design.
sweet...keep me informed of your progress. Are you writing your own software?
I'm thinking I will be able to just use mach3 to control it after adding a few customizations...I might start a build thread once some more parts come in.
