    A Color CNC painter

Has anybody tried doing this at home? I would like to, if possible, build a CNC machine that uses maybe a air brush tool to plot down photos, images, logos, or text onto a surface.

Gave it alot of thought, and I would want the machine to be able to do at least a near photo quality plot. Do you think this is possible, has it been done?

I'm good at the software side of things, and am ok at mechanical. I'm confident that I could write a program to do this.

What y'all think of the possibilities?

Good site, with lots of technical info. But what I'm really looking for though is home hobbyists that may have done this, on a much smaller scale. Potential uses might be to paint on machines, make small signs, or automotive painting.
