Desperate for help. Roland CJ-60 "Capping Error Message"

I just bought this machine used and need some advice. It's been sitting for a few years, but prior to this was the primary cutter for a sign business. When I start it up, it goes through a rather lengthy startup process where it intermittently sounds like it is priming or turning rollers. I am told this is normal. However, after awhile, it beeps and gives the error message "Capping Error" Turn off power.

I simply want to cut with this, I have no interest in printing with it. I am told this can be done. Has anyone seen this message or knows what to do? how do i disable the print head or printing of this unit and simply use it as a vinyl cutter?
