desktop 3dprinter. which one?

i'm looking to buy a desktop 3d printer in the uk. nothing fancy, just an economical one to start with. could anybody drop some suggestions as to where to start? what companies are not expensive yet reliable?
i'm willing to compromise resolution and bed size for price.
