Default plasma cutting using Milling machine controller

In plasma cutting application ,if sheet is bend, we have to change plasma torch height accordingly during cutting process.
The torch is located on Z axis. So I need the function to up & down torch by pressing Z+ & Z- key manually (JOG mode) at the same time with controlling X & Y axis by MEM mode. My controller currently can not perform this task. Is there anyone can give me suggestion for this case?

You should get Torch Height Control, it will do it automatically (as long as you buy a good control.....)

Most controllers/control programs do not allow external jog of an axis while code is running. MACH3 has that provision and you can use the keyboard or an actual external THC to do it automatically. Otherwise you need a full Stand Alone THC with its own control, motor , IHS and settings. I am sure LINUXCNC has some form of external jog option but we have not found it so far! It WILL take UP and DOWN signals from a THC via the parallel port HAL so faking it with a swtich would be trivial
