Default Plasma to router table top?

I have a PP plasma table with the HD gantry. It came with a router mount.

We are looking to change out to a router for a long time job we bid on.

The water tray slides out but what are people using for a table top so you have a flar surface to put spoil board onto? n

    Any ideas are welcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    Gary

Depends on what framework is left once you take off the water table. Commercial machines often have a phenolic grid but you can also do it in MDF (or layers of mdf) and then seal it with an epoxy sealer or similar (so it is air tight). You need it to be stable but you can get around the flat part (assuming it is close) when you mill the spoilboard down for use.

Well easiest might be just more steel cross members, then mdf etc.

Thanks for the responses. I am going to add more supports and then plywood with a couple sheets of mdf. I will seal it up and see how it goes from there .

    Thanks

    Gary
