    Communications output to Printer Port

I am new to CNC CAD/Cam and have just finished my XYZ table which I bought from surplus complete with stepper motor and driver. The driver is connected to my PRINTER port for communication. I already have Autocad sofware to make the drawing of the parts and I also have MasterCam v9.1.

    1. Is there a need to buy other software like "Mach2" to run my CNC table ?

    2. Is there also a need to buy other software like "Deskart" to carve or engrave ?

    3. Mastercam has configured the SERIAL port for communication. Can anyone teach me how to configure to use the PRINTER port instead ?

Thanks for the help anyone can give me.
