Need Agie Charmilles wire EDM post processor help

Hello guys and gals,

I am in need of a post processor for my Agie Charmilles FI 440 CC with Fanuc controller.

Myself and my operator are pretty new to the wire EDM thing and we are sturggling with even being able to cut a 4-axis wire contour.

What comes straight from Mastercam is not right and we know that. We are also having lots of problems with how I have been told to alter it, granted the source of instruction is not much more knowledgable on the subject than me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Lans

1. Attach a COPY of your .pst file to either your previous or a new message.

2. Post an example of the code your getting...

3. Show us what you need changed...

4. Someone here will probably be able to help you with the PROPER modifications.

Lans B.
You may have to get this made for you. this post is not be very easy to change. with my past experience with editing Agie posts it could be a down right nightmare.
show the code you need for the machine and the version of Mastercam a copy of the post will help as well.

Hi Lan

It is very simple to alter the master cam posts.

If you have a sample program..check the syntax.

You can edit the post processor file located in the directory, open with note pad.It is similar to your to a question and answer session edit the required fields then save it as * .pst.Remember to keep the original file...

It is NOT simple to edit a Wire EDM post. Especially if it has "Agie" in the machine name. I know this and Steve knows this. Steve knows more about Mastercam and Agie's, than anyone else I know.

I have a charmilles FI4020. Used the mpwpost and customized a few things. I works. Still need to make a few more edits.

we also use the mpwfanuc post.

Just to clear up confusion Lans mentions he is using a charmilles machine with a fanuc control.

He is NOT using an Agie machine.

Agie and Charmilles are two very different machines with different controls owned by one company, hence the combined name.

1st - If we didn't care, we wouldn't be here.

2nd - The Original Poster of the question is long gone. He only posted this one question.

But you do bring up a good point. Old Agies ain't like new Agies. Thank God :-)
