    Help with multi-axis/sub spindle lathe

We are trying to get up to speed with MCX for a multi axis turret lathe we have coming. Axis are X,Y,Z,C1,B(sub motion). Sub has orientation but no C. I was messing with some of the generic posts we have and there is a couple for multi axis. One is advanced 2-2, and the other is advanced 2-4. I have no idea what the difference is just yet but neither seemed to support the sub spindle. Just wondering if there is any generics that support a sub that we may not have? The control is fanuc based Hitachi. Seicos LIII I believe.

If we just add sub functions in the machine def manager, what would we need to do to post correctly? We have changed things in posts but not wrote our own and I think that might be too time consuming.

Viper as you are going to find there is no 5 axis generic lathe post on this forum and the other board Viper1. Sorry but your best bet is In-House as stated.
Look at the posting of Crazy_Millman on the other board as he does this type of work. the posting of Wait Codes for Mill/Turn
(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

Thanks for the reply. I noticed on that site that is specifically says to NOT contact in-house for posts. Who would I contact for this? I will check to see if we can just buy a post. May be the smarter route.

What is missing from the generics? I guess all I noticed was the sub spindle work. Of course that is a big one though. Is there something else?

You should contact your local reseller for custom posts from In-House.
