Does the Prototrak support drilling with a high retract (Clearance plane) move?
Mike Mattera
I use version 9 master cam with the MPROTMX3.pst When I load the program in to the prototrack, the program doesn't have a spindle speed command which is needed for this machine, and It doesn't load the rapid clearance planes for the drill cycles. it starts the drilling from the clearance plane. I loaded it into this machine as a .CAM file. All help is appreciated.

I believe it does,
These are very easy modifications for your Mastercam reseller to correct. I would recommend contacting them and send them your files.

You are going to need to know what corrections are needed to the code for the machine to run. I believe this is what Mike was getting at. You need to look in your manual and see if a value is missing from the drilling output that is causing the drill to start from the clearance plane, or is there a position output missing prior to the drilling op that your machine uses for a return point.
If your local dealer has to do the research they will have a harder time helping. This same thing applies on here. We would need to know the details to be ale to help more.
