MasterCam X2 For 4-Axis Rtry Mach 3 Post Processor

Not sure if I am being stupid however I recently purchased a PC from an auction at a company which had just gone pop here in the UK and now I'm after using it with Mach 3.

My question is will the standard Mach 3 post processor work if I intend to use MasterCam X2 on a 4 axis machine I have built myself which uses a HobbyCNC board?

I was slightly unsure about buying the PC but I knew it had MasterCamX2 installed and for £30 it was worth it just for the PC itself the software was a massive bonus.

Does anyone know if it will require any new post processor for Mach 3 because I'm getting a bit confused with all the posts in here about other machines.

Mastercam X2 has a machine & control definition file along with the post processor. If you are doing true 4th axis milling you may need to work on modifying the files according to the macine, if you are just rotating your WCS to do index type milling you can probably just use a standard post and modify it to meet your needs. I would suggest contacting your local Mastercam dealer and have them help you out just to save time and frustration.

you shouldn't expect any help from the dealer; as I believe the lisence is not transferable. Further, I think that pursuing the issue further here may contravene terms of use.
