Warning With Mcx Post for Haas

Hi Gent's, I'm new to the site, But have been a machinist, manual, for 20 yr's + with about 4 yr's CNC. Started teaching my self Cad-Cam on regular basis about 5 month's ago w MastercamX. We use UG at work . Find Mcx easier to learn first & then make the transition. Problem is I needed a post for a Haas 3 axis mill & found one on Mastercam's web site , downloaded it, & installed the machine, control & post files where I thought they needed to be. Went through the process of adding them to my machine & control definition's , saving & drawing a part & doing a tool-path. When I go to post, it goes about halfway through the process & I get a warning box that say's " Write NC Operation Information must be Enabled In Control Definition- Set & repost ". I can either click OK or Cancel. Click OK , it finishes up & posts. Program seem to be OK. Copied one & took to work & it ran fine, but box is annoying & I would like to correct. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Great site ! Lot of good info for a old timer like myself. Have a great day !

Look in the Control Def there is a box.

There is a box in the control def for this. Look there and you find it. You need ot go to the Control DEf through the Main screen. IN X2MR2 it is under setting in your version if older than X2 I think it is under toolpaths been so long can not remember. What did your dealer say when you contacted them???

Smile Found it !

Much Thank's ! Went there & found it under Files, NC Parameter File. Checked box " Write NC Operation Information " & also had to engage the radio button, below, that said " Transform And Source Parameters " to make everyting work . Post does great with no warning box now. Still have a little tweaking , ie, get rid of G92, put M08, & put in Work offset,G54,55 or whatever I use. But with the help of this site & time & practice I"ll get there. Have a great day !!

Look in the Misc and use the Mi1 and set it to 1. This does tell me you are using a very old post. I would go the www.emastercam.com and download thier MPMASTER post it has switches in the post and works prefect for the HAAS machine.

Thumbs up Got MPMASTER POST

This post work's a lot better than the other one ! Put's in my G54, got rid of G92 junk at start of program. Had to go to CD, Control topic's, Arc's & change xy,xz,yz planes ,Arcs to, "delta start to center" to post I's & J's instead of R's on G02 & G03 moves. Just my personal preference, & where i work, they have Unigraphic's set up to do the same on the Haas. Question I have now is when I go to my Control Definition, my Operation Default's option is not there. This is a area I am having a hard time understanding, machine & control definition. I understand somewhat what these setting's do, but don't fully understsnd how to set the 3 up, machine, control & post to work correctly & when I close X out & open it up all my setting's will be as I set them before ! I downloaded the MastercamX Transition Guide in PDF to help me understand the process better. I have also been reading the help guide in the software. Again, many thank's, Crazythunder, your input has been very helpful. Have a great Day !!

Why would you have to go onto the internet to download a post for this machine? Mastercam ships with and installs a good haas post that should work for you right out of the box. ??

Smile Why I DO What I DO

Cause I'm practicing on my friend's v 10 in his shop. A early release, no MR1, MR2, & only mill post's he has are generic Fanuc 3,4 & 5 axis, which are the controler's he uses & work's fine for him. Where I work ,all we have are Haas VF-3's & 4's & use Unigraphic's NX 5 . Only for my own personnal use & satisfaction am I trying to adjust everything the way I like it to be able to do government work, on my time, with the Haas. That's all. I perfer Mastercam to Unigraphic's.

All of the X versions shipped with Generic Haas 4X Mill.pst, even the pre-release beta versions that originally got cracked. So I'm pretty sure that if you take a look again you will find it (even if it is a cracked version that your "friend" has).
