I acquired a mill with a prototrak M3 control and I need help with some questions regarding programming and file loading/saving.
1) Is Mastercam able to configure CAD generated programs that the M3 can use?
2) My 3.5" floppy is'nt responding (probably broken) when I try to save M3 generated programs, so can I use the M3's RS232 port and work interactivly with a PC?
3) Which port do you use on the PC and where can I get a cable?

....... older obsolete equipment manuals need to be ordered as they may not be online. but still available to purchase. even if floppy drive is defective you can get spare parts from southwesternindustries

older models sometimes used 720kb floppy not 1.44mb floppy. you can put tape over one of the corner hole so machine thinks it is a 720kb floppy. you will need to format it as a 720kb floppy too. you may need a older computer to format a 720kb floppy.

Mastercam web site has a generic 3 axis post processor for Prototraks. you still might have to do minor editing.
