MasterCAM .nc file path location help

Hi, I'm using X3 at work and X3, X4 at two different schools I'm going to. my question is, on some computers the .nc data file will default to the same file path as the .mcx file that I'm working on. But on most for the computers i have to tell MC where i want the .nc file location to be in the Control Definition Manager.
Can anyone tell me how to set MC up so that it will default the location of the .nc file to be the same path as the .mcx file?

Thank you in addvance.

The paths for the Mastercam posting location is set thru the Machine Definition file in the control Definition file

Go
Settings (pull-down) --> Machine Definition Manager --> ( select the machine that is posting to wrong location) --> select "Edit the Control Definition" --> select "Files" ( in the control topic ), will give the attached picture ....use browse for folder button, for the correct location in the right hand highlight area

Remember, when you start a program, these are usually set...but if you select a different post to location, that location is remembered until you re-select this or another CNC machine ( so, it will reset everything back to it's original set-up....try this first )

Think i need to be more clear on what I'm trying to explain. Thanks for you reply Superman That is how most of the systems are set up. but one of them,, some how,, when ever i start a new file and save it to a new folder the .nc data path will automatically be set to the same folder with out me changing the data path in the Control Definition or the Machine Group Properties in the Operation Manager within the file its self.

There are two areas that may control the placement of files

1/ Project manager under the "File" pull-down
and
2/ Files section in the Op manager tree ( the defaults are controlled as per the previous post, but some things you do when posting can alter some paths , but only in this particular session. To reset back to pre-set paths, just re-select (Replace) the same machine again )

PS. the "Edit" button on the Op manager-Files page only modifies settings for this session, it is not a permanent mod that you do to the actual machine definition file
