Smile Delcam PowerMill post programming to divide nc programs by size...

    hi

How can I modify my post-processor .opt file in PowerMill, if i want my nc program automatically divide to eg.: 100Kbytes. I would like to try this on an old machine, which has too small memory.

Ok, I can do it in a text editor also, but i want to find out the automatic way

If anybody has something which can be an example, that would be the best!

Thank you for any kind of idea or help.

    Hi Gabor,
I donīt know about postprocesing, but you can divide an active toolpath by angle, direction, lenght and time and make individual
programs using those resulting toolpaths. You can also limit a toolpath with plane, polygon or boundary and choose either to save inner, outer or both. You can also choose to save the original or not.

Ps. Doesnīt your controll allow to transmit blockwise? I use that method with TNC355,which can take in max 1000 blocks.

Mastrecam Chooks sections the "nci" file, on a long program, into desired size sactions (aproximate). Go Alt+C and click on section.dll and follow the prompts, then post the nci files.
