Has anyone seen or have a Mastercam post for and Acu-Right Millpwr. We just picked up the millpwr to add on to one of our bridgeport and as my reseller is never in or never responds to e-mails I thought I would see if anyone knows if there is one for the Acu-Rite millpwr. |

| What version Mastercam are you using? Version 9 (and I believe 7 and 8) has it on the CD. If you're using MCX, then you can take these posts and convert them. Massage as necessary.....

Hi There, I am using MCX, but like many other my distributor is very difficult to get a hold of / not absolutely sure he is still in business. I am looking for just a basic post processor for accu-rite mill power, i can edit it once i have a starting point. Thank you very much for your time. Ryan |

You didn't say if you had a 2 axis or a 3 axis retrofit. the only difference is you have to press the start button more on 2 axis. Here is the points you need to know about Millpwr controls using g-code. You cannot use cutter offsets with g-code. The best way I have found to use them is a a sub program call up. Making the easy cuts with the conversational and the complex with the g-code that way. you cannot edit g code on the pendant. In the two axis control ( I haven't tried it with 3 axis yet) ,and with not to complex shapes, I use a DXF file, it works great and there are some editing functions. Most posts will work, but you will have to edit out the codes that are non- functional. I wrote one, but sorry to say it is not in a mastercam format or translatable. FYI- I understand that they are coming out with a USB port connection soon. When I had guestions about the millpwr, I found it best to call the factory, not, the dealer, and telling them the dealer was not answering my questions. Steve |

| ... will do cutter comp.when you program in it's conversational or dkf files. It will not do CComp in G code format. See page 5-7 in the manual. norty, the Millpwr does only a very basic g-code as you can see starting on page 3-32. I was able to create a post in an old 2 1/2 axis EzCad I have, by leaving the commands it will not do blank. I suppose if you need to, you can put something in a post command which the control ignores such as "M1". I do not have a mastercam post. Most of the work I do on the 2 axis machine is in the conversational or dxf files. The conversational and the dxf are very user friendly once you get the hang of it. I do use g code at times for 3D profiling of a feature on the 3 axis machine. But, most big time 3D... I will do on my machining center. Steve |
