What do letters in brackets [ ]mean after post name?

I have a question concerning what I would consider "codes" on a number of posts that we use. What are the letters and sometimes numbers that are within brackets, [ ], that are at the end of the post names? for instance, I see alot of this: Anilam 1100 [ITC], HAAS [GSI], HAAS [TC], Fadal [SDP-E], etc. What do these brackets and their contents represent? Initials of who wrote the post? Thanks in advance.

Usually that means a specific company that post was created or customized for. Sometimes it can refer to a specific machine.
