Anilam Crusader 2 DNC/RS-232

I have a Crusader 2 I'm trying to send NC programs from my CAD/CAM on my PC. I'm trying to find what cabling I need to make this work. I've tried many of the online ideas but still can't get it to work. I have a open com port on the pc but the printer port is not available due to dongle taking the spot and if I try it there it loses contact with the dongle. So I'm left with a DB9 com port to a DB25 serial on the Crusader 2. Does anyone have one that works and will pass on to me what they did? Thanks... Rich going Crazy

Do yo have the wire pin out information?
It is pretty straight forward to build your own cable. You just need to know which pins are carrying what signals.

Note that the printer port is not a serial port and should not be hooked up to your machine for fear of damaging something.

Rs232

Standard Null Modem cable configuration will work to the vast majority of CNC machines. Can buy them any length from most cable suppliers.

Anilam db25 to db9

I've done this, but I'm not at my shop right now, so the info is not at hand. There are a few sites that give this info, but they seem to contradict each other about the pin assignments. I found three different ones before I stumbled on the correct one. Please post if you still need it. Also, I have found (or not found) all of the relevant commands and syntax to get the info to the controller. There is at least one ASCII character that is required at the beginning and end of the file to be transferred that can't be typed on a keyboard (I think it is ASCII 127 or 255... it shows up as a square on a text editor) I have been able to get a few simple programs to work, but nothing very useful yet. Also, the transfer is REAL slow. I haven't been able to transfer faster that 2400 baud (for you young types, that was a term used back in the day .... it translates to REAL slow, something like 0.0024 mbs)
