Must be really difficult. People on here that do about everything imagineable in regard to cnc...maybe copyright issues too?
Anyone knowledgable on editing existing postprocessors and transfering them to different controls?

yes, you can modify post processors to work well with different machines/controllers. What CAM software are you using would be the most important thing for use to know.
I have purchased a seat of Dolphins' Partmaster Pro CAD/CAM because they have a pp (M_mx3pro) that's compatible with our prototrak Edge3 control. The edge 3 requires conversational for 2-1/2 D as it can't convert 2-1/2 D G-code format from a cam system like it can 2D....wierd, but I guess they want each control to fit a niche. The m_mx3pro pp must be for a mx3, but works with me edge3 control with a few edits in notepad.
I have an un-restricted licencse of BobCad 17 that has much more capability in 2-1/2 D than Partmaster, although Partmasters' 2-1/2D canned cycles are superior to my old version of Bobcad.... If I could use partmasters pp in BobCAD 17 I'd be in good shape for more complex 2-1/2D Z-axis roughing and finishing. I contacted Bobcad, and asked if they'd write or modify an existing pp if I purchased an upgraded seat of their software...no luck, they won't write conversational posts. I understand their choice as the market is so small.
