I run a Haas GR712 and the ATC is fairly low. I wanted to change my post to allow a G28 Z0., after a tool change, first before the G17 X,Y rapid to my start location to avoid hitting my table, clamps, etc... However I am new to editing posts and am not entirely sure how to go about this. I am using X6 and can email my current post to whomever is willing to help.
I am assuming I need to have a G91G28Z0. after the G21 line. I have looked though the post and am not sure where I need to insert the line. The post is just a modifed version of the generic haas post for mastercam.
I get little squares in some places that I just delete. The guy who originally edited the post told me to do that and I haven't had any problems. All I have done to the post was edit where it inputs the company name - part number and (Haas Post Edited by Chad Bakken). When it comes to editing a post I really don't know what I am doing. I have a different post for a Fanuc-OM control that a different person edited for me and I have never had any problems or errors with that one.
Ok. So lots of things within fixed. Looks like someone started to add things like tool tables and not really finished it. But I've put right what I can see.
As for the g91 g28 z0.
Would this be better after the m6.
What happens on the machine at the line with g17 in?
if you search for "BM" you will find the code for the retracting after tool change.
As for the other parts. Basically every variable needs to be defined within the post (unless its a variable from MCam its self),
Some of these definitions where missing, and although it ran without serious error this is only because the were not being used.
Its only because X7 updated it and found all the undefined bits.
And there may be more that i have not found so take your time with it to start with.
