I think Autocad should be off the list because it is scewing the data.
I run Inventor so I voted for other, and I am quite sure other people are doing the same thing.
Started with CADKEY, moved up to Autocad Mechanical , then Inventor (why can't I subtract solids from each other or generate 3D sketches easily?), and never looked back since I started using SolidWorks. It does everything that Inventor promises with the next version.
You will never look back when you go to parametric solids modelling. It's easier than 2D!
You can roll all of your 2D experience into the process.
Solid Edge has them all beat from my expierence with CAD systems.

CATIA V5 R17.
personally I prefer solidworks to the other CAD programmes, I can see everything in 3D before I machine it

I've just started looking at Alibre Design. Very promising, and free for personal use.
But I'm sure some of U are better qualified to test it than me...
