    The Zone and CAD/CAM Trainer

Apparently people have "issues" with posting links from this forum to others(namely CAD/CAM Trainer). This poll was posted over there and I thought I would post it here and see what ya'll had to say.

Personally, I believe it can be a co-whateverthatwordis relationship. I don't believe that site is going to be a threat to the zone....it covers a very specific topic.

    That's my opinion-what's yours?

I agree. I think that software and programming is such a vast area that it having its own specific site is a good idea. Helps keep everything organised and easily accessible. We are all here to help each other and promote cnc after all. Theres still a huge amount of other cnc stuff on the zone that wont be on CAD-CAM trainer. I think CAD-CAM trainer should do up a logo in the same style as the CNCZone one on the top left of the page, and there should be a banner to click to go from one site to the other. M2c.

    You have a point.

There are four votes "to keep the heck away from each other".....I'm interested in hearing from those that voted for that option....I would like to hear the reason for your opinion.

What's up with the blink tag?

I don't know what this other site is about, but if it's even 1/10th as annoying as using a blink tag in a headline, then I vote we stay the hell away from it.

    Chris.

What do you mean by "join"? Nobody is trying to combine the two sites or make them "sister" sites. I just think we should beable to exchange links freely without our posts being pulled.

    Here is the rules-

    POSTING LINKS:
Our policy on linking to other web sites is pretty simple. Members may link to any other site that provides information that helps answer another members question or is just of general interest to members of that particular forum. One of the most basic tenets of the Web is the open exchange of information, and the CNCzone forum managers wholeheartedly support this type of exchange.

The only type of linking (besides porn and spam, of course) that will not be allowed on our site is when members solicit people to leave our site and join a competing service. That's just common sense. However, people are always welcome to link to any on-line resource, whether it's on our site or any other site, in order to share useful information with fellow members.

The issue is SPAM, CNCzone has built and surpassed the critical mass mark and would be darn near impossible to complete with the site. So the problem is that people come here to learn and help others, NOT to be constantly faced with a link to another site, just to promot it.

Links are fine as the RULES state, I personally have not time to sit and pacify trouble makers netheir do my moderators, and I hit the ban button on a regular basis.
