| Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Have you ever read the MSDS for the various materials you work with? Yes? No! MSDS: Material Safety Data sheet. This is the product specification sheet required from every manufacturer on every product which identifies the chemical composition and their physical properties. MSDS sheets evaluate the proper handling and assess the hazards of each product. NOTE: Every business in the USA and EU must have all MSDS sheets of every product used in that business available for inspection any employee and any government agency that requires chemical information. ...

| I dont know how it is in the US but we have to train, train, train and train some more on safety stuff here. It is illegal to have an employee that does not have WHMIS training as well as an update course every 2 - 3 years.

| I'm impressed with the number of people who have read them. My background is physics and they are usually required reading in each new lab I consult for. So I usually have no choice for a lot of my stuff I work with. |

| The places I have worked 50% had them and 50% didn't. Seems odd that so many companies in this area don't even care. Then again most of them hire illegal immigrants and day labors. All they want is to bleed someone dry then throw them in the gutter, and get a new one.

Actually it's federal law (right to know law) they have to post them in plain visable sight (as opposed to posting them in a box in the basement where you have to use a flashlight and x-ray glasses to see them). But there are so many small companies that just ignore the law.

You are correct. BTW; if they aren't in plain sight don't ask about them either, you may be looking for a new job that day. On that note if you are looking for a new job that day don't forget to make a few calls to the propper athorities Fair is Fair, in Russian Rulet
