I will be using NEMA 23 mounts...Taig mini-mill paired with a 4-axis servo setup from IMService.

Edit- Whoops, saw they were for a router...Never mind, then! Sorry!

on my bridgeport series II, 42 and hopefully 34
I have some Nema 34 and Nema 23 that I hope to use on a router. Nema 34 brushless servos should be big enough for a very fast router. For that matter, I have a set of Nema 23 motors that probably would be scary fast on a router.

I am using NEMA 17 for the XZ and NEMA 23 for the Y axis. Nema 17 at 24 volt and 1.2A and belt drive and they are more powerful than first imagined. I will use some more for another router project at a later date

I actually now have 2 complete sets. a set of 3 Nema 23, 425 in oz motors and a set of 5 nema 34 625 in-oz. I'll use the larger ones on my machine and the smaller ones on the girlfriends machine.

I have ema 23's on both my Taig mill and Sherline lathe. I plan on using 23's on a CNC router I am building.

Cheers

The motor frame may be of some interest, but Oz. In. or torq spec and the source to drive them would be another spec pair to pay close attention to. Parallel vs series connected for at least bipolar types plays a large part on the torque curve capacity and current demands too.

My Compumotor Nema 34's only have 200-400 Oz. In.'s to do the job driven with S6 or Zeta4 drives. There are much higher output motors available, but obvious drives must match that demand even though a 34 frame. Since 6 amps is max on the S6 drive, the higher torque motors would starve with these limitations.

Something is going to suffer.....usually it's connected to your wallet?
