Cool What is the RPM of your CNC Router?

Here are some of the standard spindle speeds:

    Dremel 5,000 to 35,000 rpm
    Laminate Router 30000 rpm
    Plunge Router 8,000 to 24,000
    Die Grinder 30000 rpm

I am using a Ridgid Laminate trimmer and it is 30000 RPM I think.
One thing bad I will say about the trimmer is that it has a poor design for a collet.
One thing I will say good about it is that it is very small!

Widgit, good one! I always wondered how folks got their highspeed machining done with a slow spindle typical of some metal machines.

Bunalmis, try Precise and see what they have for air spindles. Those are expensive though. eBay is the obvious choice if you're ok with used/surplus. I've seen some nice NSK and Kavo spindles rated at that speed. I have a couple of Precise 45K RPM ones that seem plenty fast for anything I've thrown at them.

Metal router has 6k to 10k rpm. Wood router has 1k to 30k rpm.

It looks like the 2400-RPM Plunge Router is the most popular choice for CNC router spindles!
