This is my case as well, I am new to the forum, and here to learn.

I build speaker horns and upgrade parts as a hobby, and wanted to simplify production with the use of a CNC Router.

Its not any easier so far, I think I need to upgrade the Cotroller board and software.

Dave.

My intro into CNC

While looking for info on a jukebox I came across a forum where a member cutout a perfectly fitting jukebox frame using CNC. Instantly I wanted to know what CNC was. I googled it and found many diy and it set me off. Then I found this site and I am trying to read all post I am hooked at the wonders of CNC craftmanship. And so my love for this hobby grew and my quest to someday be able to do something similar.

Completly sick of being able to digitally model anything i want VIA solidworks, but had no means of making it. It eventually will drive you mad.

OK I must tell the truth. I was off my meds at the time and the drive motors made these really neat sounds. Merry Christmas everybody or have a happy holiday of your choice.

I was once told to build a cnc by a friend from overseas, this was to start the process of building bits for a flight simulator, I then looked at few videos of a cnc & the informed my friend that im not that brainy, but with 6 months research into cnc i built my first machine. This was just over 2 years ago now & im ready for my next machine. the first was mostly made of MDF like most but i have found that like most types of wood there is movement over time. I am making very fine precision engraved panels, & noticed that some days the depth of engraving would be great , but the next compleatly miss one end of the job.. I will be incorperating a floating z axis into my new machine for this reason.
also my current machine only uses 60oz motors & just ACME rods, so this time round not skimping on equipment, Just thought i would share my cnc story, as i have learnt so much & suprized myself into what i can do when i put my thinking cap on.
Cheers all just joined CNCZONE, look foward to chating with you all Nice 1!!
