no text will show on screen

Hello all,

For some reason , my software won't place any text. It will let me pull it up and pick a font , but when is press OK nothing shows up.

I have re-started the plasmacam program and also re-started the computer. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the Snaps are turned off.
The fonts have to be TrueType Fonts. Try using Times New Roman for a test.
Select Draw- Text. Click once where you want the bottom of the text to start. Type in the height. For this test type 3 and hit ENTER for a 3 inch tall letter.
The Text windows will open. Select Times New Roman. Type in your words and hit Enter.

I am using a laptop to do some of the designing & I am having the same issue with text not showing up. Have you resolved your issue? What OS are you using? I am using Windows 7.

I have a seperate PC (running Windows XP)hooked up to my machine & have no problem with the text feature.

Thanks for asking the ? . I have a PC at my fab shop that will also let me use any font in the system and let me place it & cut it out.

But when I use my laptop in my home office for design work , it won't let me use anything but , times new roman or ariel or some other ( easy ) font. The Laptop is running the same XP program as my shop computer. What gives ? The technology is supposed to be getting better but instead seems to digress. I am using the same zip drives to exchange designs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure the fonts are TTF (Tru type fonts)?

Also the fonts on one computer are not necessarily the same as another. It depends on the programs installed.

Make sure the SNAPS in Plasmacam are turned off. You might be setting a 0 height for the text.
