plasma Cam nightmare

hey,
i just joined this forum.... i just started working for this company that just bought an old plasma cam form a shop...they use the machine to make some basic repetative sheet metal designs....its been less then 2 weeks since we got it and it is already starting to have problems....
the tip of the hand torch mounted on the CNC table seems to dip randomly into the material... that is it will cut one whole part perfectly but while replecating it a second time it would just dip into the material causing the tip to crash with the table...no doubt this has caused us quite a bit of trouble and at times has stopped production...any hints on what could be causing this and what to do to fix it will be more then helpful....
thank in advance
Max

re: Plasmacam nightmare

Which model Plasmacam are you using and which cutter?
Also reply with the settings in Machine Control and System Configuration.

In the Plasmacam program, go to Machine and down to Settings.
The tabs are labeled Machine Control, System Configuration and Drawing and Editing.
Under Machine Control, set the Cutting Height to .068
Under System Configuration go to the Arc Voltage Calibration section. Set the Arc Voltage Shift to 1.20

Please email me directly at support@plasmacam.com for more detailed instructions.
