    Ah Bugger!
I knew i was missing/misreading something. I thought 10mm was way undersized for what you wanted to do but figured you'd make it work somehow.

I'm used to the "lead" being called the "pitch"
I'll go back to my corner and hide

    linear rail flatness

mounted rails, checked , removed rail - sanded, filed and scraped , re checked, etc... final out come is .002 out. To give an overall flatness of .002 over 4 feet. I feel that is as flat as I need for a plasma cutting machine. once assembled I will check will be to make sure both rails are parallel with each other.

Next we have the Ballscrew supports that came with the ballscrews- they need some love.

upon tear down and inspection the mounts are not that good, the bore is good the depth for the bearings was too deep by .014 that the bearing cap/clamp was too short Not touching the bearing ,Seals are to tall, I will replace the 25x15x7 with 25x15x 5mm for a better fit, (order bearing shims from McMaster to solve the bearing clearance issue)

this cap was not clamping the bearing properly it is too short or the bore is too deep -so I will have to shim . Real Bearing supports cost $200 , these cost $30 wonder why?

End play-.004 , I'm shimming between the bearings as well as to preload . Whats my time worth? Switching to electrical
till I get shims. Making cables

making up the cable that Connects to the Hypertherm machine port (CPC 17-14)

    completed cable

You're going good that's for sure... That SPI straight edge you're using... You scrape it in or you bought it like that?

Never noticed that on any of their straight edges.
