    BBR Machine Build 4 x 6

Thought I would share some of my build pictures so far.

My build is a 4 x 6 Plasma/Router table that will be expandable to a 4 x 8 later when the space is available.

So far I have completed the lower table and upper table. I have designed it so I can unbolt to upper table to make it easier to transport as it will eventually be moving into a bigger shop.

    Table:
    4x6
V bearings using PCB ivtaag rails for the y axis
V bearing using PCB ivtaaq rails for the x axis
    K2cnc for my Z axis
    5" watertable

    CandCNC 5 axis setup with
    Dual Y Drives 2 x 960,
    X axis 1 x 740
    Z Axis 1 x 620
    Rotary Axis 1 x 740

    Building upper table gantry supports.

Making sure everything is level and square.

Some advice the more square your cuts are the less out of square it will be when your done.

I spent time making sure all cuts were square by over sizing the piece and grinding it square using a machinist square to verify.

    Cross pieces installed.

Lower cross piece is fixed and the top is removable so I can expand it later as well as add my rotary axis.

    Checking table for straightness

Not to bad after all is said and done top leveled from all corners within .020" and squared to .040"

Square material prior to welding is a must even if it takes a little longer it is worth it in the end.

I have my Y axis rails but still waiting on my X axis.

Racks have been received and will start cutting my gantry plates as well as my gear reduction plates hopefully next week.

I also received all my electronics yesterday, which is very exciting except for the part of waiting to have to install them.

Between work and becoming a New Uncle I manage to get my Gantry plates cut and drilled today.

Mounted for test fit. I haven't picked up my Bolt Hardware yet, so yes those bolts are a little long.

I'm going to pick up my water table material this week sometime.

I plan on using plain water in my table as opposed to the DIY Plasma Quench so I have been researching epoxy sealers for the water table to protect it from rust. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well at least PBC Linear are consistent. I have been waiting for my x axis rail ordered in Nov. Just got off the phone with them it was suppose to be shipped last week and its been sitting in the warehouse and no one knows why it hasn't been shipped yet. They will get back to me when they know more.

If they can get it to me soon at least it will be faster than the 9 weeks it took to get my last order.
