Why on earth would you need to clamp material on a plasma table? The plasma process exerts practically no force on the work-piece.

Because material can move arround , especially thin materials , tip ups just barely touching the tip can move the sheet

Warping is another reason. It is really annoying to watch a 1" plate warp beyond recognition as the cut finishes. Our current system does a downward force sensing to zero out the Z axis and often pushes hard enough to move small pieces or thin gauge sheet around enough to be out of tolerance.

    Clamp Method

    Hello All,

I have ran into this problem a few times and there is a quick fix for me... Neodymium Magnets... They work great... Forget trying to clamp and make custom tabs... Just stick the magnets and ready to cut in like 10 seconds... BTW I am selling 125 magnets if anyone is interested.
