    water table question

I would like to know how far down on my plasma water table the distance between the top of my slats and the top of the table. I have seen some at 3 or 4". I wil be loading 10 ga to 1/4" steel by hand. I just dont want water on the floor. The water tray is 8" deep with air chamber underneath. I wish I could keep the slats flush with the top of the table for easier loading. Feedback please, thanks.

Your post is from a while back, but perhaps your still around. I just tested out my first water table today, and I have less than 2" from the stop of the slates to the top of the table. I'm afraid that I will get some splashing once I get the table going. What distance did you end up setting up and have you experienced splashing.

    Here is what I did.
My watertable is 5 inches deep, the slats are 2 inches and level with one end of the table (photo). I can just slide the sheets on from this side. One the other 3 sides I attached a sheetmetal "angle iron" which reflect the sparks and splatter back into the table. I also made the watertable 10 feet long out of 12 feet cutting length, for easier access. In the rare occasion I cut any longer than 10 feet I just let the torch run over the edge of the watertable. I had the same setup on my previous build and it works fine for me.
