I am seriously looking for a new plasma cutter. Want to upgrade once from my Cutmaster51 to.... I want as much machine as I can run on single phase. I have 3 phase in the shop but limited to two 10hp Phase Perfect Digital Converters. So I need to run the plasma on single phase.. Lets hear some input. Jim? Anyone else? |

| Be happy to offer input.....however you don't say anything about what you would like to cut.....material type, thickness, duty cycle. Is it hand held cutting or mechanized? Do you need to have high productivity or just a once a week 5 minute use of the machine? Hypertherm alone has about 25 different plasma cutting models......then there are all of the other manufacturers. I'm sure we can recommend a few that will fit your needs as soon as we know what those needs are! Jim |

Thank you for the reply. I got cut short with the posting above. Here is some more info.. Material - Mostly mild steel, but intend to use for some Alum and Stainless. Thickness - Mostly 1/8 - 3/8 material. Duty Cycle - I will be cutting up full sheets in one sitting in most cases. Has potential to run 8 - 10 hour shifts. Totally depending on the day, etc.. Is it hand held cutting or mechanized? Mechanized mostly, but would like the option of getting a hand held torch for the unit. I currently have a Cutmaster 51 that has been used as a hand held unit only. |

Hi Jim, One of our clients is choosing plasma of hypertherm, he normally cuts 35mm steel, maximum 50mm, so he wishes to know how to choose yr plasma. there's a HT200 suitable, but for normally cut 50mm, should it change another model of plasma? And hypertherm should have same price in every country? why some Indian come said they can buy hypertherm PHC at around 2500 USD? I thought it was re-newed, but they said they bought 100% new PHC. Look forward to yr advice Tks larry

| I am assuming that this is a mechanized application for plasma cutting. If you need to pierce 50mm, then you would need a 400 Amp systems such as the Hypertherm HPR400xd. If edge starting is acceptable then 50mm can be cut with an HT2000, or an HPR260xd. If you can buy a Hypertherm torch height control system for $2500 USD....that is less than Hypertherm sells them for at wholesale pricing! A very good deal. Hypertherm offers "suggested list pricing" that is relatively consistent worldwide....with compensations for duty, taxes, shipping, etc. The product designs vary based on local electrical and safety regulations as well....which means different pricing for the same basic models in different regions of the world. What the dealers decide to sell the products for is their decision! Jim Colt

Tks Jim, Another client abt your product, also it's from Egypt. He has bought HPR260XD and ProNest 2010, it supports true hole tech, which is new patent tech of hypertherm? Now he wants to choose a controller from hypertherm that support this function at lowest possible cost. Could you give some advice? He plans to cut fine sproket from matal sheet, is the true hole tech a must? Sorry, here just some brief introduction of this tech, so we know little abt it. Pls kindly advise Tks larry
