Unhappy Offsets, what am I not getting? aaaaaaaah

I've created a straight pocket setup using the USB software.
My work piece is 9"x4" , step down 0.05" .250" cutter. all the basic stuff...

I've tagged the lower left corner as the start point as Zero and defined the x and y location 0,0.

I move the spindle to the corner of my work piece and tag the offset current. Doing a dry run at that point, the movements look correct but the offsets are way off..... I know I'm doing some simple stuff here but why is the offset so far off? like half the width and length.

Hi, I'm new to this so I'll ask a simple question........when you set your work zero offset did you make it G54 and have G54 in your G code as the point to go to when it starts the program for cutting?
