Need Help with Picstep opto output board

Hi All,

I built a set of picstep boards some time ago and never got around to test them untill i got the jro router design going.

I have built the opto output board vers 2.01 and can't seem to get connectors 3 and 4 going correctly.

Con6 uses lpt pins 5 and 3 for step and dir
Con5 uses lpt pins 9 and 7
Con4 uses lpt pins 13 and 11
Con3 uses lpt pins 17 and 15

I get good step and direction signals and good motor control with connectors 5 and 6. On connector 3 get good step signals but no direction. On con5 i do not get step or direction signals.

It appears that the lpt port pins of 15,13,11 are not giving me an output. I have been following the schematic from the Alans page and this is where i traced the lpt pins to opto board wiring.

Now, if i look at the pin usage for an lpt port it tells me that pins 15,13,11 are inputs not outputs which would explain why i don't see any step or dir signals from these pins. Is this correct and if so what should they be wired to. I have replaced all opto's from these 3 pins and also replaced U12 but still no output on 15,13,11. The cable from the computer is straight thru and i tested continuity on all pins to the opto board.

I think i answered my own question guys, i had used a header for LPT connector on the opto board instead of an pcb mount db25 once i rewire the header to conform to a db2 then everything should work right with the motor drive outputs being 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
