Hi all, I am in the process of constructing a controller with 4 X Picstep V4 boards. Because I will only use the 4th axis occasionally I would like to be able to disconnect the motor when it’s not in use. Can I just disable the board (remove the enable signal) and leave the board powered up, or should I remove all power to the board when the motor is not connected. |

| For the amount of power saved, it probably isn't worth the hassle to disconnect the board - I'd vote for simply using the ENABLE/DISABLE feature as it is probably more easily revereseable. It would also save you the hassle of having to figure out if/how to terminate the signals as is needed in some instances. |
