I found this code for a step direction input stepper driver here, looks like from one of the schematics it uses N-Channel MOSFETs to send signals to the motor.

well long story short this is my situation; I have little experience with microcontrolers that which I have had is with AVR, id like a program that can be loaded onto a small 8 pin PIC or preferably AVR that will take step direction inputs and control four N-Channel MOSFETs in full step in a .hex format. (I always have trouble compiling programs)

I think that's what the code is but I have no experience troubleshooting, programing, declaring variables (making the .hex files) also one more question if the circuit uses HEXFET's can you use any voltage you want for the motor?

thats a cool program thanks, but im probably just gonna do alexanders pic driver. next year im starting college and i'll learn all about programing so im gonna hold off for now.
