MicroTips touch screen tutorial

Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on interfacing a PIC or Basic Stamp to a MicroTips touchscreen. They are by far the cheapest I've found.Mouser has the 3.5" for $78 and the 5.6" for $128 with built in controller.

Thanks, that has some good info but it's best to look at the Mfr's site for the specific touch screen your using for wiring. What I would like are some basic;C or C++ code examples.

I am not sure I would tackle the task of interfacing a TFT deivice with a Pic micro unless you are using it as a dedicated controller, and looking at the number of IO lines required the Basic Stamp will not have the horsepower to do the job. In this case, unless you can find an RS232 controlled screen, I would suggest looking at the Rabbit controller. They have a touch screen development kit, but it is rather pricey. There are a number of app notes that they provide that might assist you in selecting an alternative screen that is less expensive.

Well if I wanted to go with Atmel, Comfile technology has an all-in-one 4.5" x 3.4" touch screen with a Dual Core Atmega128 @ 18.432Mhz for $359.00

That is a very nice looking device, especially for the price. For $3 more you can get the starter kit which includes cables and power supply. There are plenty of interface and programming options. I particularly like that everything is wrapped up in one nice little package. If you go with this device, let me know how you make out.
