Servo motors are normally driven by a servo amp which takes an analog signal(typically between +/- 10v with tach(velocity) and encoder(position) feedback for closed loop control) . Step and direction are digital outputs to a stepper motor controller(Open loop, but some systems are going toward closed loop with encoder feedback). There may be some brushless servo drivers that will take step and direction, but they are quite expensive.Originally Posted by islambadr
