Can anyone give me some advice on this VFD (GE/Fuji AF-300 E11)? I am looking at using it for the 2.2 KW, 3 hp motor on my Shizuoka ST-N. Attached is the 2 page brochure. I would think it should work for my application. It is a cheaper drive (no encoder input), but I wasn't planning on doing rigid-tapping anyway. Is there any big disadvantages to this drive? |

| It takes up to 3hp in single phase so it should work. The encoder on the motor back to the drive is used for precise speed control and torque down to low rpm, for rigid tapping you would also need an encoder on the final spindle shaft back to the CNC controller, or Z axis on a mill. Al.

| Fuji used to manufacture GE's AF-300. But now Fuji has their own version called FRENIC Mini. http://www.ctiautomation.net/FUJI-FR...-Inverters.htm |
